MPUMC Playhouse

Where PLAY and FAITH grow together!

MPUMC Playhouse is a children’s enrichment program offered by Myers Park United Methodist Church. MPUMC offers this opportunity to children enrolled in the 3s, 4s and TK program at The Children’s Circle Preschool as a way to grow in faith and God’s love through movement, learning and play.

Children can sign up for a variety of activities that varies by session. These can include Arts and Crafts, Basketball, Soccer, Kitchen Science and Stay and Play. MPUMC Playhouse meets from 12:45 (after dismissal from The Children’s Circle) to 1:45 pm, Mondays-Thursdays. Carpool is offered, starting at 1:45pm. All children must be potty-trained – no exceptions. Snacks are provided for all participants.

CHARACTER KIDS CLUB

4s and TK Only: Learn how to be a friend, what to do when you are angry/conflict resolution, how to regulate emotions and more through children’s literature, storytelling, art activities and play. Led by Elizabeth Barton, a master’s in human development counseling from Vanderbilt, and Kathy Shields, a former elementary teacher, this one is not to be missed for children in 4s and 5s!

ART LAB

Come create “masterpieces” with a variety of colors, mediums and methods in this hands-on, exploratory activity.

KITCHEN SCIENCE

Calling all little scientists and future chefs – come explore, create and discover as we experiment with fun food ingredients. This one is always a blast!

MY GYM

Taught by a professional from My Gym, children will work on gross and fine motor skills while enjoying obstacle courses, soft play, dance and more!

P3 BASKETBALL LAB

Ready to play some basketball with college and former professional players from the P3 Basketball Lab organization? Children will learn the fundamentals from coaches who truly understand the game.

SOCCER SHOTS

Taught by a coach from Soccer Shots, children will develop age-appropriate soccer and character-building skills while having FUN!

STAY & PLAY

Ready to move and groove? Children can enjoy MPUMC’s play spaces and gym while developing gross motor skills and making new friends through play.
